We all know that we need fresh, updated web content to bring visitors back and add value to our business relationships. The Willco News Module is an easy yet powerful way to post news, push it to customers and other users, and drive site traffic.
The News Module integrates seamlessly into your existing site and, with the Lists Module, can deliver your news directly to the inboxes of your community members.
A simple system of headers and footers, controlled through the Admin Module, inserts your News module into your website. You control who is allowed to post news to the site. A "digest" feature enables you to determine the days you send most recent postings out to specified members of your community. With RSS/XML enabled, community members can subscribe to a feed of your updates. We can even consult with you to integrate the RSS/XML feature of the News Module into the page design of your site such that latest listings always appear on your homepage or throughout the site
Willco built the News Module to meet specific needs and requirements, resulting in an outstanding slate of user benefits:
- Closed or Open: News can be open to all visitors or only available to those with an account in your community - for example, customers who need software updates or other proprietary information.
- Search: Enable fast keyword searches across the full-text of postings.
- Editorial Control: Administrators have full control over postings, allowing them to Edit or Delete at any time.
- Categories: Administrators maintain a list of categories which visitors can use to browse by subject rather than chronology.
- Digests: In association with the Lists Module, administrators choose which days of the week to send a digest of the latest postings. Digests may include only message headers or the entire message body. Administrators moderate digests before they are circulated.
- Customisation: Edit digest and news 'headers' to provide additional information about the purpose and use of your News, as well as prompt for signup to receive digests.
- Access Control: Control access to news so that only existing members or administrator-added members can access news. Optional "auto-login" feature means they'll automatically have access again on their return to the news page.
- XML/RSS Content Feeds: Allow visitors to subscribe to a content feed of the 10 latest postings, providing information as they prefer to receive it and leading them back to your site.
Cost
The News Module carries a monthly standing charge (no usage charges) and requires the use of the Members and Admin Modules.
